About Barb
Barb Buckner Suárez, LCCE, FACCE, IPNB, RHP
Barb Buckner Suárez is a Lamaze Certified Health Educator and a Fellow in the Academy of Certified Childbirth Educators who’s had the honor of supporting thousands of families in her 25+ years of working in the peripartum field.
She holds a masters level certificate in Interpersonal Neurobiology and has become a certified Resonant Healing Practitioner using neurobiology, resonance and empathy as healing modalities for trauma.
Her work spans the entire parenthood experience from making the initial decision to say yes to pregnancy, preparing for labor and birth, managing expectations of the 4th Trimester and beyond, and babyproofing the couple relationship amidst the normal challenges and changes that happen when you start a family.
Barb believes that parenthood – raising the next generation – is the most important work ever and seeks to support parents, and the birth professionals committed to caring for them, every step of the way.
She presents on many topics, but her expertise is on the intersection of neurobiology and how it impacts the life-changing experiences of pregnancy, labor & birth, and parenthood. Barb knows that when parents, and the professionals who work with them, understand how the brain changes and adapts during these experiences, they feel empowered to act in ways that support these changes. She’s invested in shifting the paradigm of birth in our culture, so families can thrive for generations to come.
Barb lives in Portland, Oregon where she and her husband work together to launch their four children into adulthood and take their dog, Chico, on as many adventures as possible.
